Mother's Day

It was a beautiful day here. Perfect weather, family and friends over and lovely home made gifts and cards from the children.

A framed chicken painting from D, aged 8. He loves chickens a lot and wants to be a chicken farmer when he grows up.

A beautiful card from M, aged 11. She loves cats and kiwis.

After a massive lunch, we went out for a walk in the 'hood

And took in some high culture:

Hope you had a great day, whether or not you're a mother!

  1. cute cards - that chicken was especially well drawn. chicken farmer? too cute - have you let him raise a chicken in your backyard? I follow a blog called going gently - he is a gay welsh farmer who regales me and his readers with the plights of chicken rearing - two got killed last week - if you think your son is ready you might get him to read his blog. brutal stuff while also very twee all at the same time - looks like you had a lovely day!

    1. That blog sounds very interning. I'll check it out to see if he'd appreciate it or not.
He is very against battery farming and refuses to eat chicken.

    1. W would love to have chooks, but our backyard is tiny... I mean really tiny! We live in a very cramped inner city terrace and I just don't think we could fit chickens in.... Sad, but such is life...

  5. Very cute! My son who wanted to be a butcher and once found a hair tie, previous owner's hair still attached and wrapped it for me as a present is about to turn 21 and a student of economics. I wouldn't put all your eggs in one basket and count on a retirement of all you can eat roast chook. I hope you had a great day.

We couldn't go in the Tardis, which was a shame, but there was an original 1973 Dalek which my kids were v excited about!

The Dr Who shop was a laugh, but full of overpriced merchandise (of course)!
